SOMERSET stage the first of two home meetings this week when they face Scunthorpe at the Oaktree Arena on Tuesday. The original clash between the sides fell foul of the weather in April, with the Premier League leaders defending their winning run of all eleven matches so far.Josh Auty returns to No.1 for the Scorpions with Michael Palm Toft moving out of the reserve berth where he is replaced by Carl Wilkinson, with rider-replacement continuing to operate for Alex Davies.Rebels boss Garry May said: “Scunthorpe may be languishing in the lower reaches of the league table, but they have riders in their ranks who have a proven track record around the Oaktree Arena.“So we cannot take anything for granted, because the minute you do that, it will come back to bite you. “We will be going into the match with the same professional attitude we go into every match, but in saying that I am expecting the boys to end the night with another home win under their belts and the three league points which go with it.”

MILDENHALL have announced a double change ahead of their home clash with Kent on Sunday with 15-year-olds Jordan Jenkins and Sam Bebee joining the Fen Tigers. The duo come into the side at the expense of Chris Widman and Luke Ruddick, subject to BSPA approval, and are also set to line up for the club in 2017 with Jenkins equalling recent signing Kyle Hughes’s previous record of being the youngest-ever club debutant at 15 years and five days.Chairman Kevin Jolly said: “This has been hard for me as it is never easy releasing riders, and with Luke and Chris both being good lads it is even harder - but I have to do what I feel is best for Mildenhall Speedway, and other clubs were starting to circle around our youngsters so I decided to act quickly.“Chris has possibilities of a team place elsewhere which I hope comes to fruition as he is a solid guy and a fine team man and he leaves with our thanks and very best wishes. “Luke has had a difficult time this year but we certainly haven’t given up on him, he certainly can come again and I would not rule out seeing him in Mildenhall colours again this season.“Jordan and Sam are the first fruits from our second half racing programme and entry into the MDL, and hopefully more will follow. A club like Mildenhall will survive and progress only in my opinion by producing our own riders as we cannot compete with what some clubs can offer financially.”
