Current Duke Road Race Rankings Champion, William Dunlop, along with 2013 and 2014 title holders, Michael Dunlop and James Cowton made some inroads into the current leader and second place man in the Duke Road Race Rankings during the Armoy 'Race of Legends' Road Races, round 17 of this year's series.
Current holder of The Geoff Duke Trophy, William Dunlop achieved two wins in the Supersport races, along with two third places, firstly in the Superbike race and again in the 'Race of Legends' feature race - these results made him 'Man of the Meeting' and helped him advance three places in the Rankings table to fifth from eighth.
Younger brother, Michael once again dominated the 'Superbike' class winning the Open race and then the feature race of the event. Along with a third in the first Supersport race, he remains in third spot, closing to within 20 points of second place man Ivan Lintin and within 646 pionts of present leader Dean Harrison, neither of whom were present at Armoy.
A win in the SuperTwin race, plus two eighth positions in the Supersport events and a 11th in the Open race on the 600cc machine keeps 2014 Rankings winner James Cowton in sixth spot.
Duke Newcomers Winner last year, Adam McLean took a fourth, fifth and 10th race placings moving him six places from 29th to 23rd, whilst 2014 winner Neil Kernohan claimed a race victory in the 250cc race, plus a fifth and 10th in the feature race, elevating him 11 positions from 33rd to 22nd.
The road racing action remains in Northern Ireland for the next two rounds, the Dundrod 150 National Road Races, on Thursday 11th August, followed two days later by the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix, both held on the world famous 7.4-mile Dundrod Course, which is currently the 'world's fastest road race'.
