Hillspeed planning multi-car entry for British F3 Autumn Trophy

With only two weekends to go in the 2016 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, category organisers have confirmed a four-race Autumn Trophy event – which will take place at Snetterton 300 Circuit at the end of October – and leading team Hillspeed is already accepting driver enquiries.

Having raced to podium success during the corresponding race meeting last year with McLaren GT driver Struan Moore, the first event featuring the 230bhp Tatuus-Cosworth, the Derbyshire team is again planning a multi-car entry for this year’s race meeting on 29th/30th October.

In order to control costs, while still providing maximum track time, all four races of the Autumn Trophy will be contested across a single weekend. Competitors will also benefit from exclusive testing at Snetterton on Thursday, 27th October, and Friday, 28th October.

Offering drivers an ideal opportunity to sample the immensely popular, and very potent, British F3 car in race conditions ahead of a potential full campaign in 2017, the quartet of races also provides a chance for competitors from similar international categories to gain key race mileage.

“We have some extremely competitive packages available for the upcoming Autumn Trophy where we plan to field a multi-car entry”, said Hillspeed team principal Richard Ollerenshaw, “It’s a perfect chance for drivers to try out the British F3 car in all scenarios, testing, qualifying and racing, and to gain some excellent preparation for the 2017 season.

“We’re welcoming enquiries from drivers across the globe who may be considering racing in British F3 full-time next year or, indeed, competitors who may simply be looking for additional track time in an exceptionally good state-of-the-art F3 single-seater.”

Hillspeed has long been a front-running force in UK single-seater motorsport with championship success in Formula Renault and the ARP F3 Championship in the past. Additionally, the team won multiple races in the predecessor category to BRDC British 3, the BRDC Formula 4 Championship.

Drivers looking to compete in the upcoming BRDC British F3 Autumn Trophy are invited to contact team boss Richard Ollerenshaw on +44 (0)7966 650400 or by email to info@hillspeed.co.uk
