Seewer takes pole for Suzuki at his home Motorcross GP

Jeremy Seewer roused a large home crowd at the new Frauenfeld-Gachnang circuit for the Grand Prix of Switzerland and the 15th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship by running to a clear-cut Pole Position - his second in a row - with his Team Suzuki World MX2 RM-Z250.

Under bright skies and warm sunshine Team Suzuki World MXGP’s Kevin Strijbos endured a goggle problem to take 12th place in his MXGP Qualification Heat.

The flat and jumpy layout a short distance north of Zurich had been battered by rain in the build-up to the event and the third MXGP fixture in three weeks. The showers helped soften the soil considerably and the ground churned into deep and long ruts through many corners, increasing the technical demands of the new course.

Seewer benefitted from a crash by Conrad Mewse to inherit the lead early in the MX2 chase and then rode without challenge, cheered noisily by an excellent attendance in the first Swiss GP for 15 years. The ‘#91’ will then have first choice in the gate for the motos Sunday and a superb chance to grasp his maiden victory at Grand Prix level.
