Chicherit joins JRM Racing for three World RX rounds‏

British-based outfit JRM Racing will enter a MINI RX Supercar for Guerlain Chicherit at three upcoming rounds of The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy (France, Spain and Germany).Frenchman Chicherit - a four-time World Champion in freeriding - made a successful World RX debut with JRM Racing last year when he drove at his home round in Loheac and also at Franciacorta in Italy. He has been eager to build on the experience he gained in 2015 and has been planning a return to rallycross action for several months. The 37-year-old will kick his 2016 World RX campaign off at Loheac in France next month (2-4 September) before taking his place on the grid at Barcelona (16-18 September) and Estering in Germany (14-16 October). He will drive JRM Racing’s second MINI RX Supercar chassis. The Monster Energy Athlete has a mixed background in motorsport, having competed in both the FIA Junior World Rally Championship and also in several cross-country rallies including finishing fifth overall at the 2010 Dakar Rally."I'm really looking forward to racing in World RX with JRM again,” explained Chicherit. “We've been exploring many options since Lohéac last year and initially spoke about doing the full FIA European Rallycross Championship in 2016. However, I decided to wait until the new engine was developed for JRM’s two cars. I hope to play my part in developing the car further so I can do a full championship season next year.He added: “I’ve still so much to learn in World RX but it's super exciting to be part of the show and to race alongside some pretty impressive names in motorsport."JRM Racing Team Principal, James Rumsey, believes Chicherit’s previous experience will serve him well on the World RX grid.

Rumsey commented: “Guerlain took a big step when he joined the World RX grid last season but he did a very good job. He impressed everyone in the team with his professional approach and the way he adjusted to driving door handle-to-door handle on a crowded track – particularly on his debut at his home event. The pressure was really on at Loheac but he used that to his advantage. We’re looking forward to supporting Guerlain as he continues his development as a World RX driver.”
