The special award winners from the fifth and sixth rounds of the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship have been announced, following the Harry Flatters Rally (Sunday 31 July) and the Red Dragon Rally (Saturday 20 August).On the Harry Flatters, Chris Skill and Tom Jordan collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. The ‘Spirit of the Rally’ product award from Fuchs Lubricants went to Guy Woodcock for a great result on his first event in his Ford Escort Mk2 for 10 months.Neil Williams won the ‘Hard Charger’ award of a 20-litre jerry can from Green Valley Industrial Supplies. He took his Escort Mk2 to top BHRC finisher and scored maximum championship points for the first time.On the Red Dragon, Warren Philliskirk and Nigel Hutchinson collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. The ‘Spirit of the Rally’ product award from Fuchs Lubricants went to Simon Tysoe who battled hard in the tough conditions to win Category 2 and take the overall BHRC lead for the first time.Finally, Mike Tomkinson won the ‘Hard Charger’ award of a 20-litre jerry can from Green Valley Industrial Supplies. He finished a tremendous seventh overall to take one of his best BHRC results to date.
