Team GB’s most successful athlete of the Rio Olympics, Jason Kenny will celebrate his three track cycling gold medals by racing a Radical SR3 RSX at Brands Hatch GP in the Radical Challenge this weekend (27-28th August).Jason previously raced SR3s back in 2014, where he finished on the podium at the Nurburgring in the Radical European Masters and is looking forward to getting behind the wheel again. He was buzzing from the experience of racing a downforce car on a Grand Prix track but had to turn down further outings due to his training commitments and dedication to the Rio Olympics.
All those hours of training and focus reaped huge rewards in Rio, as he dramatically won gold in the Team Sprint, Individual Sprint and Keirin. Jason has now tied Sir Chris Hoy and Team GB’s most successful ever Olympian with six gold medals and one silver. Sir Chris has also raced Radicals extensively, starting with the SR1 Cup in 2013 before racing the SR3 and Spyder on his way to successfully racing at Le Mans back in June.It seems only fitting then that they should race a Radical as team mates once more (as they were in Team GB at London 2012 and Beijing in 2008), and they will be doing that in a Spyder at Jerez 28th-30th October.
