rom Belgium to Monza, the front-running 2016 season continues for Team Trident.On the challenging Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the Team Trident drivers have been among the stars of the weekend, and the second places scored by Luca Ghiotto and Antonio Fuoco provided plenty of momentum heading into the Italian squad’s home race.The 2016 GP2 and GP3 Series seasons are set to be back on-track with no time for breaks just a few days after the previous round held in the Ardennes Forest at Spa-Francorchamps. The teams headed south towards Monza, and will line-up for one of the most historical and anticipated round of the year. The two straight weekends at Spa and Monza are probably the highlight of the whole season, involving two true cathedrals of speed, loved by the drivers and fans.The Team Trident drivers are tipped to be among the front runners again. Race after race, Luca Ghiotto is emerging as one of the best prospects of the GP2 Series. With the podium finishes captured between Silverstone, Hockenheim and Spa, the 22-year-old rookie from Vicenza is highly motivated to finally score his maiden win. Ghiotto showed class and maturity in the Belgian Sprint Race, managing the tire degradation well and bringing home an outstanding third place. The same result will be the place to start from in Italy, beginning from qualifying. “We gave our best at Spa and got another podium finish,” said Ghiotto “Now I want to fight for my first win in the series in front of my home crowd”. He will partnered once again by 20-year-old Philo Armand. The Indonesian driver is expected to continue climbing his learning curve in the championship. All eyes will be on the GP3 Series too as Antonio Fuoco hopes to finally fight back to the championship lead currently held by Charles Leclerc. The gap from the Monaco driver can be closed in one round and the young Italian, who cruised to take the runner-up spot in Belgium, is determined to do well and impress in front of his many fans. After scoring his first points in the Ardennes, Giuliano Alesi has all what it takes to do it all again and increase his chemistry with the series. Sandy Stuvik and Artur Janosz, who are progressing race by race and working very well with the technical staff. They are clearly in line for some major satisfactions at the world-famous GP venue.
The GP2 Series will unfold according to the regular timetable, with a 45-minute practice session at 12:00 PM noon on Friday followed by qualifying at 15:55. Race 1 is set for Saturday at 15:40 PM, while Race 2 is scheduled for 10:25 AM on Sunday. The GP3 team will be on-track for the first time on Friday afternoon, with the practice session beginning at 17:50 PM. Saturday will be again an intense day, with qualifying starting at 9:45 AM and the Feature Race at 17:15 PM. The final race of the weekend will be at 9:15 AM on Sunday morning. As usual, the weekend will benefit from a massive live and tape-delayed TV coverage platform including the SkySportF1 network.
