Feature Race reportAntonio Fuoco retained second place in the GP3 Series standings, but a thermal degradation issue to one of his tyres forced the Italian youngster to content with 8th place. Running in front of his home crowd, Antonio Fuoco delivered a convincing comeback in the first part of the race, moving up from the seventh place on the grid to barely miss a podium finish. At the end of a tight battle for third place, a tire wear issue slowed down the march of the Cosenza-based racer who had to settle for eight place."After an aggressive first part of the race, the degradation of one of the rear tyres forced me to slow down” - said Antonio - “I had a tough battle with Charles Leclerc and my car definitely felt it. Now I want to rebound tomorrow in race 2”. Fuoco is still holding second place in standings, and his pole position might be a good way to trim his gap even more.On the other hand, Giuliano Alesi suffered a gearbox problem and was forced to retire early, while Sandy Stuvik made it back to the 12th place after an earlier off-track exit. Artur Janosz ended up out of the points zone too, crossing the line in P16 at the end of a solid race.
