Trident GP3 Series: Monza Sprint Race report

Antonio Fuoco recovers 10 points in his championship chaseTyre degradation issue slowed down the young Italian’s march.Antonio Fuoco left the Monza paddock with a third place in the GP3 Series Sprint Race, a result that enables him to trim down his championship gap as he now stands just four mere points away from championship leader Charles Leclerc.“Once again I was slowed down a bit by tire degradation issues. I decided to content with third place to avoid compromising the situation as happened in the feature race, when I had to lift off and ended up eight. The thermal degradation continued to be the key element of the weekend - said Fuoco - the situation on top is still fluid and we all had some setbacks. Not making mistakes will be very important in the last two races. We’ll have to keep the temperatures at bay and do well from qualifying”. Giuliano Alesi was forced to come back to the pit-lane due to a flat tyre, while Sandy Stuvik ended up in 15th place after serving a 5-second penalty for causing a collision. Artur Janosz worked very well with the team’s technical staff and scored eight place. It was his best result of the season for the Polish racer, who had already scored points at Silverstone.
