AmDTuning.com will seek to maintain the momentum built during the Rockingham weekend when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads for Silverstone for the penultimate meeting of the 2016 campaign. The West Thurrock-based team returns to Northamptonshire this weekend buoyed by it’s best weekend of the year to date three weeks ago, where driver Ollie Jackson produced the most competitive display yet for the team’s Audi S3.Having endured an astonishing run of bad luck since the summer break, Ollie was able to show the true potential of the Audi with a fine performance on track that resulted in him securing a brace of points finishes. That included an eleventh place finish that was the best result for the Audi since it made its debut in the championship. With a double points score under his belt - his first in the series since the 2013 season finale - Ollie will aim to add to his tally this weekend and insisted he was optimistic about his chances.“Rockingham was a massive boost both for me and the team after a difficult spell, and it was brilliant to show what we are capable of,” he said. “Having taken a real step forwards there, hopefully we can make further progress when we get to Silverstone and show that the results last time out weren’t just a flash in the pan.“My confidence is on a real high after my best weekend in touring cars for a long time, and there is no doubt that I want to push for more points. Silverstone is a circuit that should suit the Audi and I see no reason why we shouldn’t be able to do that, and hopefully find ourselves pushing towards the top ten again.“Saying that, it won’t be an easy weekend as the racing at Silverstone is always very close because the circuit is so short, so it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out. If we can qualify well and stay out of trouble, I’m sure we can be in the mix amongst the points scorers.”Team boss Shaun Hollamby shared in Ollie’s optimism about the weekend ahead, and said he was hopeful of more points from the latest three races of the campaign.“The main focus this weekend has to be to build on the momentum we have after Rockingham,” he said. “With two rounds to go, we want to make sure we keep scoring points so that we can end the year on a high.“The Audi should go well at Silverstone and I’m confident that Ollie will be able to challenge inside the top 15 again, and hopefully push towards the top ten. We’ve spent time making some more modifications to the car on the back of the Rockingham weekend that should make us even more competitive, and we’re all keen to see how those changes translate into on-track performance.“Track position is going to be key this weekend at a circuit where overtaking can be difficult, so we need to try and make sure we qualify well and put ourselves in a position to challenge.”
