The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo meeting at the Nurburgring launched Bonaldi Motorsport to the leading positions of the championship thanks to Kodric’s overall victory and Amstutz-Kujala’s victory in PRO-AM category
Owing to adverse weather conditions the race was postponed for more than half an hour and started behind the safety car. After two laps, the safety car left the racetrack and Kodric kept his second place trying to reach take leader, Schlegelmilch.
The pair built an important gap between them and the rest of the group. The strategy and the performance of the Bonaldi Motorsport team during the regulatory pit stop at the half race went perfectly and allowed Kodric to rejoin the track before Schlegelmilch. The rest was done by Martin who raced excellently till the chequered flag and obtained his first season win and deserved success.
Both Valente and Amstutz made a good start. Kujala, after receiving his car from Amstutz, passed Breukers to win the in PRO-AM category with his car no. 34. Unfortunately Valente and Barbosa retired due to a contact due to an accident. Ineichen did not take part in Race 2 as he was involved in the Blancpain GT Series endurance race.
Martin Kodric: “`It was a very difficult race. I had to race heavy from the start to the end but my victory rewarded me: it was great!”.
Patrick Kujala: “I am very happy for the team who did a great job yesterday to repair the car. Today’s victory is really meaningful in this sense apart from recovering points in our standings.”.
