British motor racing team Mark Burdett Motorsport has announced a 20-day winter test schedule during October, November and December for drivers who are eyeing Formula Renault 2.0 campaigns in Europe in 2017.
Visiting eight high-profile venues including Monza, Barcelona, Spa-Francorchamps and Paul Ricard, as well as securing a two-day test on home soil at Silverstone, the front-running Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup squad is keen to hear from competitors already planning next season.
First heading to the cathedral of motorsport, Monza in Italy, on 5th/6th October, the team will then return to the UK and the home of British motor racing with a two day outing on 20th/21st October on the full Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Heading to the Nurburgring in Germany for a two day test on 3rd/4th November, the team then travels into Belgium for two days of running at Spa-Francorchamps on 7th/8th November with a return visit to Monza on 15th/16th November, ahead of a trip to Imola a couple of days later.
In December the Lincolnshire team will visit three more venues – Paul Ricard in southern France on 1st/2nd December, Barcelona in Spain for four days on 5th/6th December and 8th/9th December and then Valencia for three consecutive days on 12th/13th/14th December.
Offering fantastic opportunities for top quality testing mileage at some of the most important tracks in Europe, as well as those drivers considering Formula Renault in 2017 the track time could also be very beneficial for competitors racing in Formula 3 and GP3 who are seeking extra seat time.
“Our winter testing programme is always an extremely important part of the team’s plans every year and we’re delighted with the dates we’ve secured over the next three months”, said Mark Burdett, team principal, “Monza, Silverstone, Spa, Nurburgring, Imola, Paul Ricard, Barcelona and Valencia are all circuits career-minded drivers will compete on at some point.
“We’re obviously welcoming enquiries from drivers looking at Formula Renault for next year and also those from other categories who perhaps need to learn, or get extra seat time at, the circuits we’ll be visiting. It’s a very extensive schedule, probably our best winter testing offering yet.”
