Victory for the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Imperiale Racing in Imola Italian GT

The final round at the Mugello Circuit (October 15-16) will be decisive for declaring the Italian champions in the Super GT3 class. At Imola, sixth and penultimate round of the championship, the team Imperiale Racing scored important points for the final struggle, thanks to a third place obtained on Saturday in Race 1 and to the victory secured by Bortolotti and Mul behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in Race 2 on Sunday. But also the team Antonelli Motorsport, with a sixth and a fifth place respectively in the two races, is still a protagonist in the struggle for the championship, with the GT3 Junior Drivers of Lamborghini Squadra Corse Alberto Di Folco and Riccardo Agostini.Race 2, held on Sunday, September 25, represented the culmination of a perfect weekend for the team Imperiale Racing, with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of the crew formed by Mirko Bortolotti and Jeroen Mul which dominated all the 48 minutes of the race, from the start to the checkered flag. The Huracán number 16 started from the pole position thanks to the excellent time set on Saturday by the Lamborghini GT3 Factory Driver Mirko Bortolotti (1’40”513) and it immediately ruled the race, thanks to a first stint sustained at qualifying pace by Bortolotti who was the only driver to set a constant lap time below 1’42”, thus building a wide gap over his direct pursuers.The GT3 Junior Driver Jeroen Mul, once behind the wheel of the Huracán GT3 after the driver change, wisely administered the advantage gained by Bortolotti with an equally fast and impeccable driving stint, thus scoring his third victory of the season ahead of the Audi R8 LMS of Mapelli/Albuquerque and the BMW M6 GT3 of Cerqui/Comandini.Off the podium but hunting for big points for the championship, there is the duo of the team Antonelli Motorsport formed by the Lamborghini GT3 Junior Drivers Alberto Di Folco and Riccardo Agostini. With a sixth and a fifth place obtained with the Huracán GT3 number 25 in Race 1 and Race 2 respectively, the two Italian youngsters are now third in the championship standings with 108 points, with only one point of advantage over the Lamborghini pairing of Imperiale Racing.The last round of the Italian GT Championship will be held at the Mugello circuit on the weekend of October 15-16.
