Round 7: Pembrey, 25 September
Ollie O’Donovan became the fourth different winner in the 2016 championship, beating Dan Rooke by 0.006 seconds in the final at Pembrey. Rooke’s points haul for finishing second secured him the MSA British Rallycross title with one round remaining, in his maiden Supercar season.
The 19-year old is the youngest ever winner of the championship, with the previous youngest, Michael Shield, having won the title in an MG Metro 6R4, aged 23 in 1989.
Dave Bellerby followed up on his podium finish in round six at Lydden Hill by qualifying on pole position for the final in mixed weather conditions throughout the day at Pembrey and completed the podium, moving himself into contention for second in the championship ahead of the final round at Croft next month.
