Pirtek Racing’s Jamie Caroline will hope to end his first season of single-seater racing with more strong results to his name when the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford heads to Brands Hatch this weekend for the final rounds of the year. The 2016 campaign has proved to be one of mixed fortunes for the rising star, who has displayed his undoubted potential with a series of stunning performances on track – most notably in wet conditions at both Donington Park and Rockingham. However, Jamie has also endured his fair share of misfortune, which means he has just four podium finishes to his name despite consistently being one of the quicker drivers on track this season. After a tough run of form following the summer break, recent events have seen Jamie pushing towards the front of the pack, with a brace of fourth places finishes at Rockingham and a certain podium at Silverstone only disappearing after an unfortunate clash on the final lap of race one.Jamie will now hope to make up for that missed opportunity at a circuit where he has enjoyed plenty of success in the past.A win and second place was a fine way to end his debut season in the Ginetta Jr Championship back in 2014 before he wrapped up the title in dramatic fashion on the iconic Grand Prix layout last year.“It’s a season that has had its ups and downs, but I’m going to Brands Hatch hoping to end it on a high,” he said. “After a few difficult meetings, we showed we had the pace to challenge for the podium at Rockingham and Silverstone, and it’s unfortunate that we didn’t manage to bring home a top three finish.“There is no doubt that I want to try and put that right this weekend and finish the year with another podium – especially at a circuit like Brands Hatch GP. It’s a fantastic track where I enjoyed the best moment of my career so far twelve months ago, and I hope to create more good memories this weekend.“Obviously, a win would be the best way to end my first season in single-seaters and with no pressure on my shoulders in terms of a championship, I’ll push hard to try and get the results I feel we deserve.”After qualifying on Saturday 1 October at 11.35, the first of three F4 British Championship races will be at 16.20 later that day. Race two follows at 10.00 on Sunday, with race three at 15.42 featuring in ITV4’s extensive BTCC coverage. Live timing and results from the weekend will be available at www.tsl-timing.com.
