Dan Ticktum who lives in Sussex, has enjoyed much success in his motorsport career so far, in 2011 becoming one of only two drivers to complete the British karting ‘grand slam’, winning the Formula Kart Stars and Super One titles whilst also becoming British Open and British Grand Prix Champion. In 2013, he finished as runner-up in the CIK-FIA European KF-Junior Championship and the following year, became vice-champion in the WSK Masters and finished third in the WSK Champions Cup. He graduated to single-seaters the following year via the MSA Formula category, scoring three wins in addition to seven other podium finishes on his way to sixth in the overall standings.
Most recently, Ticktum has raced in the FIA European Formula Three Championship as he looks to compete in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix in November. He will make his BRDC British F3 debut with champion outfit Double R in Norfolk ahead of that however.
Ticktum said: “It is great to be competing in the BRDC British Formula 3 Autumn Trophy at Snetterton and I am delighted to be running with a team as successful as Double R Racing. I am really looking forward to the weekend and we are definitely aiming to run at the front of the pack.”
Anthony Hieatt, Team Principal of Double R Racing, added: “Dan is a really talented driver and it is great to have him join the team for the Autumn Trophy. After enjoying much success this year in the main championship, winning the title with Matheus Leist, we are definitely aiming to carry that form into the Snetterton weekend.”
The 2016 BRDC British Formula 3 Autumn Trophy enables drivers to get their first taste of British F3 whilst also offering additional mileage for those drivers remaining with the championship for a second campaign.
