TCR BeneluxPodium places for Potty and Richard in the Golf GTI TCR

Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR drivers Maxime Potty (B) and Amaury Richard (F) both made it onto the podium on the fifth weekend of racing in the TCR Benelux. A total of four races were held in the Dutch city of Assen in difficult, changeable weather conditions. Potty crossed the line third in the first race, then the young Belgian took second place in race two. Richard finished third in the other two races at the wheel of the Golf GTI TCR to gain a place on the podium as well. Alexis van de Poele (B) finished fifth twice and his fellow Volkswagen driver Loris Hezemans (B) scored a strong fourth-place finish. This puts Potty at the top of the Junior standings and gives him fourth place in the overall standings, followed by van de Poele. The season finale of the TCR Benelux will be held in Mettet (B) on 29 and 30 October.

Engen Volkswagen Cup South AfricaBrotherly sharing: wins for Chris and Matt Shorter in Kyalami

Two brothers, two winners: Chris and Matt Shorter (both ZA) each won one race during the penultimate weekend of racing in the Engen Volkswagen Cup South Africa. Chris Shorter won the first race in Kyalami (ZA) ahead of Keagan Masters (ZA) and his brother Matt. In the second race, Matt Shorter crossed the line first after eight laps, followed by Chris, with Juan Gerber (ZA) coming third. The finale of this popular series will take place on 26 November in Zwartkops (ZA).

Global Touring CarsA podium place with Volkswagen: Nathan finishes third in the Jetta

Graeme Nathan (ZA) has given Volkswagen a podium finish in the Global Touring Cars Championship (GTC). The South African crossed the line third in the second race at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit (ZA) at the wheel of his Volkswagen Jetta. In the first race, Mathew Hodges (ZA) finished fourth, making him the fastest Volkswagen driver, while Nathan took fifth place in this leg. Gennaro Bonafede (ZA, BMW) won both of the races in Kyalami. The next events will be held in Zwartkops (ZA) on 26 November.

Volkswagen Fun Cup FranceTFE wins the final in Nogaro

Team TFE claimed victory on the last weekend of racing in the 2016 season of the Volkswagen Fun Cup France. The team consisting of Laurent Dub/Clément Dub/Hugo Chevalier/Paul Corduan (all F) won through against Defi Performance and Groupe Lemoine at the final in Nogaro (F) in an extremely close finish: after eight hours of racing at Circuit Paul Armagnac, there was just ten seconds between the top three teams. The final championship positions for the 2016 season will be announced at a later date due to checks.
