BIRMINGHAM are aiming for a clean sweep of National League team honours when they travel to Eastbourne in the KO Cup Final on Sunday.The Brummies, who overcame the Eagles to win the league title at Perry Barr four days ago, defend a narrow six-point advantage at Arlington in the last speedway meeting of the season in the UK, with the home side looking to complete a successful defence of the silverware.Birmingham manager Graham Drury said: “The lads are still bubbling from Wednesday night and they're going to Eastbourne on a real high.”“Nothing will phase them on Sunday and they'll be keen to put in an improved showing from last Sunday's trip there.”“However, Eastbourne will be fired up I'm sure and we'll have to be on top of our game if we are to seal our third major trophy of the year.”

WOLVERHAMPTON promoter Chris Van Straaten has paid tribute to legendary broadcast Dave Lanning, who passed away on Saturday.Lanning was widely regarded as the original voice of speedway, and also enjoyed a glittering career in darts commentary.Van Straaten said: “Whilst Dave's broadcasting career was well renowned, I'd also like to acknowledge that he was a true promoter in every sense of the word, particularly during his time at Reading.“This is extremely sad news.”
