Last Chance for Spirit of Competition tickets to see Peter Brock

Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum honors Peter Brock on November 16th

Peter is the recipient of our 9th annual Spirit of Competition award

Spirit of CompetitionThe "Spirit of Competition" is the theme of the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum and the focus of our annual fundraiser. Each year a distinguished figure from motorsports is selected who has a specific inspirational message. This year we honor Peter Brock. On November 16, 2016 at 6:00 pm, Peter will receive the award at the Simeone Museum during a gala fundraising dinner.

Pete Brock started his 60 year career in the automobile world as a youngster who was hired by Carroll Shelby. He started with a bang! He designed the famous Cobra Daytona Coupe which brought to the United States its first World Sports Car Championship. His car went on to be one of the greatest sports racing automobiles ever produced in this country, setting records throughout its short but illustrious career. Then he joined General Motors and was responsible for helping Bill Mitchell and his team of designers create the great Corvette Stingray Grand Sport. He has subsequently been active in automotive racing, design, authoring numerous educational and structural projects on wide variety of automotive themes.

All of this will be discussed as he gives a personal account of his life. He will be flanked onstage by the Cobra Daytona Coupe that he designed and crafted with his own hands on one side and on the other side the Corvette Grand Sport which proved to be a gorgeous powerhouse and one of the greatest designs not only in the history of General Motors, but in the American sports car world in general. We also have a special surprise for Peter after his presentation. His comments, character, and his important role in automotive design as well as his interesting current activities will highlight his presentation.

The event begins at 6:00 pm and will consist of a dinner with open bar, and an award presentation by Dr. Frederick Simeone. Tickets are $150 per person, $275 for a pair of 2 tickets, and $1000 for a table of 8 people. Ticket sales end Tuesday 11/15 at 1:00 PM Eastern time.
