WOLVERHAMPTON have unveiled two more of their title heroes to remain with the club next season.British talents Kyle Howarth and Max Clegg will be back for the title defence in the rebranded SGB Premiership where they will link up with Fredrik Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell.Said Howarth: “I'm over the moon to be back in the side for next year and it's going to be good being with so many of this season's side again.“Overall I was pretty happy with how things went - but I know I've still got more to give.”Clegg added: “I'll still be learning as I go but last season was awesome and it taught me a lot. Wolves is such a great club and I love racing at Monmore Green too and I couldn't be happier to be back for another year.”

KING’S Lynn have made Danish ace Nicklas Porsing their first signing ahead of the 2017 campaign.The 23-year-old has appeared for the Roger Warnes Transport Stars in each of the last four seasons and will make a full-time return next year.Porsing said: “When you ride for a team you really like, you not only want to do your best for yourself but for the club as well.“King’s Lynn don’t belong towards the bottom of the league, they belong in the play-offs and I hope we can get back there this year.“My goal is just to score as many points as possible to help the team be successful and be up towards the top of the table.”

EDINBURGH have announced the signing German star Erik Riss for his third season with the club.Riss started 2016 with a 5.22 average from his debut campaign, and put that up to 6.85 over the course of the year.He said: “Yes I am back with the Monarchs in 2017 and I am very happy about that. I intend to do better than I did in 2016.”

GLASGOW have moved to sign exciting British talent Jack Smith as one of their reserves for 2017 - adding him to their growing asset base.The 17-year-old, who has just capped off his first season in speedway with a National League title at Birmingham, joins the Tigers on a two-point average.Smith said: “I've achieved a fair bit in my short career so far, but to sign for such a big club as Glasgow and as an asset, it's definitely a moment I will never forget.“When the club invited me and dad up for a look around towards the end of the season, we were really impressed with how they run the speedway in Glasgow and Scotland.“It also shows with how many top riders want to be at the club. Everything attracted me to wanting to be a part of their 2017 campaign.”

TWO top Peterborough servants will be back in 2017 - and team boss Carl Johnson insists they have a big part to play in an SGB Championship title challenge.Ulrich Ostergaard and Simon Lambert are the latest confirmed members of the Panthers’ septet for next season, with three new faces set to complete the team alongside Kenneth Hansen and Tom Bacon.Johnson said: “Ulrich and Simon are two riders who are very much part of this club. They are excellent performers on the track, great people off it and very popular with our supporters.“Ulrich's form might not have been to his usual high standards towards the end of last season, but he has worked out the reasons behind it and I'm confident he will be back to his best from the moment the tapes go up next year.“Simon has been brilliant for us in the last two years and his importance to the club was highlighted by the way we have struggled when without him.“He is capable of producing double-figures displays on a regular basis at home and he has also upped his performances on the road during his time with us.”

SHEFFIELD have announced the appointment of former skipper Simon Stead as their new team manager.Stead confirmed his retirement on Friday after a long line of injuries – but he will now take charge of the Tigers for their 2017 SGB Championship campaign.Said Stead: “It’s sad to be retiring, but this gives me a new challenge. I’ve already helped lads like Josh Bates in the past and now I get the chance to work with the full team.“I like the way the team is taking shape, we announced Josh Grajczonek on Friday and with Kyle Howarth and Josh back along with Lasse Bjerre and Jack Parkinson-Blackburn we have a good team.“We’ve got two more places to fill later this week and we’re complete. It’s an exciting time for everyone at Sheffield Speedway.”
