Johan Kristoffersson (S) took second place in the season finale to finish as runner-up in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The Swede from Team Volkswagen RX Sweden followed Andreas Bakkerud (N, Ford) across the finishing line at the Rosario circuit (RA). Kristoffersson’s team-mate Anton Marklund (S) missed the final event in Argentina with his Volkswagen Polo RX Supercar and finished in seventh place. This puts Volkswagen RX Sweden third in the Team Championship at the end of the season with 316 points. Mattias Ekström (S, 272 points) had already clinched the championship title following the previous race meeting in Germany. He has a 32-point lead ahead of Kristoffersson (240) after the twelfth and final race of the season. Marklund (76) is in twelfth place.

Chris Shorter (ZA) is the new champion of the Engen Volkswagen Cup South Africa. Fourth place in race one and third place in race two at the season finale in Zwartkops (ZA) was all Shorter needed to win the championship. It was an extremely close-run thing, however: Shorter beat his team-mate from Signature Motorsport – Bradley Liebenberg (ZA) – into second place by a single point. Keagan Masters (ZA) finished the season third, meaning that three drivers from the same team claimed the top three spots in the final standings for the first time in the 20-year history of the series. The races in Zwartkops were won by Shaun La Reservee (ZA) and Trevor Bland (ZA).
