IPSWICH have announced their team for the 2017 SGB Championship season with three members of this year’s side returning.Skipper Danny King, Nico Covatti and Danyon Hume all have places back with the Witches, whilst Cameron Heeps returns after a year on-loan at Rye House.The Foxhall club have also pulled off the signings of Rory Schlein, who last rode for them at top-flight level in 2008, whilst former Plymouth captain Kyle Newman makes the move to the Suffolk venue.Completing the line-up is 19-year-old Connor Mountain, who will make his full debut at Championship level after recovering from a broken back which curtailed his 2016 campaign with Mildenhall in the National League.

KYLE Newman says his move to Ipswich gives him the perfect opportunity to establish himself as one of the Championship’s top men next year.Newman has joined the Witches after spending recent seasons with Plymouth, who are hopeful of resuming in the National League under new promotion in 2017.Newman said: “I'm delighted to link up with Ipswich next season. The side they have put together looks very capable of challenging for silverware nextyear and hopefully I can help them achieve this.“I made no secret about how tough last season was. Plymouth had lots of problems and I'm glad to see that they have a future now. I struggled with injury in the early part of last season but by the end I felt I had hit my best form. I just hope I can carry this into next season.“I feel like I've progressed at Elite League, or Premiership level, but I haven't always been happy with my Premier League form. It's time for me to kick on in the Championship. This is a massive season and I think Ipswich is the perfect fit for me.”

SWINDON have swooped to sign talented Danish youngster Mikkel B Andersen.Andersen was on the radar of rival SGB Premiership clubs after alerting them to his availability following his apprenticeship in his home country.Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: “Both Hans Nielsen and our former skipper Hans Andersen speak highly of him.“We’re pleased to welcome him to Swindon, he’s another fresh face to the side who I expect to improve as the season goes on.“We get him as a club asset, too, so I’m pleased to have him on board for a number of reasons.”

PETERBOROUGH have snapped up hot property Jack Holder - and told him 2017 is his time to shine.Promoter Ged Rathbone believes the Panthers are the perfect club for the Australian ace - younger brother of former world champion, Chris - to continue his emergence in the sport.Rathbone said: “I fully believe that 2017 will be the year in which Jack makes a big name for himself - and I'm absolutely delighted he will be doing it at Peterborough.“He is a terrific young talent who has already shown his liking for the East of England Showground with some excellent performances here in the last couple of years.“He was outstanding when helping Plymouth to win the Premier League Fours last summer and has piled up the points in his league visits as well.”
