Ty Proctor is very keen to make up for lost time and young Rob Shuttleworth will get plenty of help and advice from the more experienced team members.”

CRADLEY will race into another season – after surviving another winter scare. The world-famous Heathens, who lost their Dudley Wood Stadium to housing development in 1995, have reached agreement to stay at Wolverhampton’s Monmore Green for the majority of their 2017 home matches in the National League. They will also be racing some meetings at Perry Barr in Birmingham thanks to the co-operation of both clubs, due to the additional top-flight dates required by Wolves.A Cradley statement said: “Heathens bosses would like to express their sincere appreciation to Wolverhampton, Birmingham and stadium landlords for making the venues available.“This was the only viable solution in order to keep the club on track for an eighth successive season – the alternative was closure with no immediate prospect of a piece of land for the club nearer to the Cradley area.”Birmingham owner Tony Mole added: “We are pleased to be able to accommodate the Cradley Heathens at Perry Barr in 2017 and we are glad to help keep our rivals on track once again.”
