THE BSPA are delighted to confirm they have reached an agreement with GTR Engines ahead of the 2017 season.
They will have a number of the engines available to riders at a significantly discounted price after striking a deal with Marcel Gerhard. The engines, which are used by Grand Prix star Freddie Lindgren and have previously been ridden by Chris Harris, are sealed to prevent tuning and are designed to reduce servicing costs.BSPA Chairman Buster Chapman is excited by the move and believes it is a positive step for the sport.“We’re delighted to be able to announce this partnership with Marcel Gerhard and his GTR engines,” Chapman said. “With the help of the BSPA and a substantial subsidy from GTR engines, we’ve been able to get the engines down to a cost price below £4000 plus VAT.“That’s a significant saving on what they would have been, and it’s purely because the BSPA and Marcel Gerhard have agreed to help subsidise them.“We’ve got a limited number of engines available at that price to start with, and they’ll be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.“It’s something that will benefit all riders and be suitable for riders at all levels."
