PETERBOROUGH promoter Ged Rathbone has completed the full purchase of the SGB Championship club.In a major New Year message, Rathbone confirmed a takeover deal with previous owners, Readypower has been finalised whilst the backing of major sponsor T Balfe Construction has enabled the purchase of track equipment, to be placed immediately under the control of the supporters’ club.Rathbone said: “I must pass on my thanks to Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney, who have always been very professional in our dealings."I'm grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to keep speedway going in Peterborough and both sides have since stuck firmly to the plan we put in place."On the surface very little changes, but behind the scenes this purchase will make the club far more financially secure.”

IPSWICH newcomer Kyle Newman hopes his move to Foxhall signals a new start to his career at SGB Championship level.Newman has joined the Witches after being captain of troubled Plymouth in recent Premier League campaigns, and now wants to benefit from some stability in East Anglia.He said: “When I knew of Ipswich's interest I knew this would be the right move for me. They are an established club with a proud history and I think I can play a part in bringing success to the club next season.“From my point of view I think I will benefit from being at a club that has the stability that Ipswich does. I can concentrate fully on my racing and I won't have to worry about off-track issues.“I would expect to add to my average next season. That's my target at Championship level and if I do I think as a team we can achieve great things.”

KENT have announced the signing of Bradley Andrews to take a position at reserve in their line-up for the coming.Andrews makes the move to Central Park after achieving a 3.07 average in his debut National League campaign with Cradley.Kings boss Chris Hunt said: “It is obvious to me that Bradley's current average is well below his capability and we plan to give him some very intensive training before our season begins so that he hits the ground running. “He is excellently equipped and has a full-time mechanic, so is well set up to succeed with the tremendously supportive backing of his New Zealand-based family.”
