Record Books Rewritten After Pre-TT Classic Races

Whilst the weather may have prevented lap and race records being improved at the Blackford's Pre-TT Classic Road Races, round five of the Duke Road Race Rankings 2017 the winners ensured that the organisers had to sit down and re-write the record books at the end of racing!

Firstly Mike Hose in winning the Quine & Cubbon Lightweight 250cc Race brought his tally of Classic Race victories to 15 equalling those of Bob Heath and Bill Swallow.
However, the ever-green Bill Swallow put it across his rivals in the A D Hewett Dental Practice 850cc Classic Race. Riding the Gleeve 499 Moto Paton to his total to 16 wins at this prestigious Classic Meeting.

The Yorkshireman's reign as the most successful rider lasted a mere 22-minutes, as Mike Hose joined him at the top of the pile after winning the Manx Environmental Services 350cc Junior Race!
Fellow Yorkshireman Jamie Coward took the chequered flag in the 4-Hire Post Classic Senior Race, his third consecutive win in this class on the Mistral Kawasaki and brought his total of Classic wins at Billown to eight - equal with his father Paul.

Yet another Yorkshireman, James Cowton, went one better in the Geoff Duke Post Classic Junior Race taking his fourth victory in a row.
Close neighbour to Mike Hose, Steve Ferguson took a three-second victory in the Greystones LLC Senior Classic Race, with local rider Rich Hawkins taking the winners laurels in the opening 350cc/250cc Office Equipment Services Singles Race on his 349 Ducati as Blackburn's Keith Shannon claimed the Lightweight class on his Cotton Telstar.
Iain Robertson kept the Scottish pride to the fore with a win in the Support Race.

Ballymena's Barry Davidson had a total of five outings, taking two-seconds; a, third, fourth and a fifth. This consistency has elevated him to second place in the Duke Rankings up some 18 places. James Cowton's win advances him three spots to fifth. Likewise, James Coward climbs three spots to 14th.
The other race winners make new entries, Mike Hose moves into 20th; Steve Ferguson 25th and Bill Swallow slots into the top-40 at 40th!

The following two rounds remain on the Isle of Man, the TT Races and the Radcliffe's Butchers Post TT
