SPEEDWAY POSTPONEMENT - WEDNESDAY JUNE 7

SGB PREMIERSHIP
King's Lynn v Rye House - OFF

(SPEEDWAY 1)

TWO of the SGB Premiership’s current top three clash at the Adrian Flux Arena as King’s Lynn host Rye House tonight (Wednesday).
It’s a rapid return for the Rockets, who were also the visitors a fortnight ago when the Stars secured a 49-41 victory.
That encounter saw Rockets heat-leader Chris Harris race to a stunning 15-point maximum, leaving the visitors regarding the match as a missed opportunity overall.
But they responded to win at Leicester on Bank Holiday Monday, whilst the Stars have won their last four matches having also got the better of Swindon last week.
Both sides are at full strength, and Rockets boss Peter Schroeck said: “This is such a competitive league, and we came so close to taking home at least a match point last time.
“We’re not going to harp on about the past, though. There are no excuses. It’s about putting it right, as we showed at Leicester. The boys are fully focused, and they are going there with total determination.
“We certainly don’t under-estimate King’s Lynn, and we recognise that they have really found their feet in the last few weeks. But we are determined not to go home empty handed again.”
Meanwhile leaders Wolverhampton visit Poole, who can move into the top four with a home win.
The Pirates hand a home debut to Grzegorz Zengota at No.1 but are without reserve Nicolai Klindt due to injury, with Josh Bates booked to guest.
Former Poole rider Josh Grajczonek guests at No.1 for Wolverhampton with skipper Fredrik Lindgren still ruled out.
Wolves star Sam Masters said: “Poole are obviously good at home, but they haven’t been there for a few weeks. Hopefully we can start well and catch them a bit off guard before they get dialled in.
“It’s going to be tough without Freddie, but everyone else is doing well so I can’t see a reason why we can’t win there.
“I’ve never won there as an away rider, so it would be nice to change that on Wednesday night.”

BIRMINGHAM boss Graham Drury reckons Eastbourne’s guest selections have made them even stronger opposition ahead of tonight’s (Wednesday) National League clash at Perry Barr.
The Eagles have booked ex Brummies fans’ favourite Tom Perry, track specialist Matt Williamson and youngster Taylor Hampshire for their visit to the West Midlands.
They are without Tom Brennan (school exams), George Wood (injury), Mark Baseby (pre-booked holiday) and Matt Saul (work commitments).
Birmingham bring in British Under-19 Champion Max Clegg to replace Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, who is serving a 14-day period of inactivity after withholding his services from Championship club Sheffield last week.
Drury said: “Of course everyone wants to see two full regular teams where possible but unfortunately on this occasion this isn’t the case.
“By bringing in the likes of Tom Perry and Matt Williamson, they’ve selected very wisely because both of those riders love our track and always seem to score well there
“There’s always been a great deal of rivalry between ourselves and Eastbourne and I know it left them smarting somewhat when we overturned that score on aggregate in the Grand Final to win the league last year.
“That went down as one of the most memorable nights in the club’s history and with the two line-ups that will meet on Wednesday, I think it’s going to be another terrific advert for National League speedway racing.”
Eastbourne boss Connor Dugard said: “The Eagles always travel with the intention of getting a result. This is no exception.”
