GREAT Britain boss Alun Rossiter is backing his riders to produce another memorable World Cup performance at King’s Lynn tonight (Saturday).
GB open the tournament against Australia, the USA and the Czech Republic, with only the winners progressing to next Saturday’s Final in Poland.
Craig Cook, Chris Harris, Robert Lambert, Steve Worrall and reserve Adam Ellis carry British hopes at the Adrian Flux Arena.
Three years ago GB got the better of Australia on a dramatic night of racing at the same venue, and most expect tonight’s event to come down to another clash between the nations – although Rossiter is not writing off the chances of the others.
He said: “You never under-estimate anyone, I’ve learnt that in speedway, and the Czechs could come and bite you, and whilst the Americans haven’t got a lot of experience they could still pop out of the starts.
“I believe our team is good enough to win – if I didn’t think that, I wouldn’t have picked them.
“I’ve picked the best riders who I feel can do the job, and we need everyone behind us to create the atmosphere like we had there in 2014.”

RYE House have axed captain Edward Kennett as part of a double change which sees Justin Sedgmen and Ben Barker join the Hoddesdon club.
The other rider to make way for the Rockets is reserve Ellis Perks, who had ironically been a success story in his position but loses his place as they go for a more balanced line-up.
Co-promoter Steve Jenson said: “We felt that we had to do something if we are going to make the play-offs. We have been close to getting match points at so many away tracks, but always come up short, and if we stayed as we were there was nothing to indicate that that situation would change.
“There’s no doubt that Edward has been ‘Mr Rye House’ these last few years, but it just wasn’t working for him away from home this season. Hopefully, he will go somewhere else that will help to turn it around.
“Ellis has been absolutely brilliant, and it is a real shame to lose him. He is simply a victim of his own success. It has come down purely to his average, and we have told him that.”

SWINDON have confirmed David Bellego has become a full asset of the club.
The Frenchman, who contributed double figures in the Robins’ narrow win over Wolverhampton on Thursday, has signed on in a full transfer from Championship club Berwick.
Boss Alun Rossiter said: “It’s fantastic news, he’s a rider who is going forward and he’s really settled in Swindon. He lives here, and he’s really enjoying himself.
“It doesn’t surprise me how well he’s adapted to this level, I’ve always had belief in him over many years.
“He did have an injury and a dip, but I spoke to him a year back and told him it was time to make the step up, and the way things went I had the opportunity to bring him in, and we’re really pleased with how he’s done.”

GLASGOW skipper Aaron Summers insists his side are ready to prove their SGB Championship title credentials once again tonight (Saturday).
The Tigers were beaten heavily at Peterborough last Sunday – the first time this season they had failed to take at least a point from a meeting – and now go back into Ashfield action against fifth-placed Sheffield.
Summers said: “Sheffield are one of the top teams in the league, and they are going to be a tough side to face.
“But given what happened to us last Sunday, the boys will be up for it. We'll be ready to come back fighting.
“It was great to see last week (against Ipswich) that the club's ticket initiative paid off - the terraces were nearly full. Although you don't notice the fans when you're racing, you can hear them when they're noisy after a heat and hopefully we get more of the same this weekend.”
Sheffield have been frustrated by the weather this week with both of their scheduled matches against Redcar called-off, but Nathan Stoneman makes his official debut at reserve after signing to replace Jack Parkinson-Blackburn.

EASTBOURE boss Connor Dugard says his side will keep their focus firmly on the task in hand on-track when they face Kent in the Knockout Cup tonight (Saturday).
The Eagles lead by six points after a win at Central Park in the first leg, so will be favourites to finish the job on home shale at Arlington.
But the Kings have ramped up the pressure ahead of the return by bringing in Connor Coles – recently released by Eastbourne – to guest for the unavailable Nathan Stoneman, and former Kent favourite Danny Ayres also comes in at No.1 for the injured Luke Bowen.
Dugard says the Eagles, who have skipper Georgie Wood taking the No.1 position for the first time after a re-shuffle of averages, are not interested in debating previous events with the Kings, with the meeting having been postponed earlier in the season.
Dugard said: “We let the racing and results do the talking, not the press releases.
“Every meeting is tough and this will be no different. Kent will want to cause an upset and our job is to prevent that and get through to the next round.”
