Speedway: Brilliant Brits reach SWC final

GREAT Britain are through to the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Final after a stunning display at King’s Lynn.
Alun Rossiter’s side stormed to a comprehensive win ahead of rivals Australia to claim the top spot on a memorable night in Norfolk.
The hosts roared to five wins in the opening five races and never looked back, securing first place with three races to spare.
It was a remarkable performance from Rossiter’s revamped side as they dropped just seven points during the whole meeting.
They will now head to Leszno, Poland to fight for a gold medal on Saturday in their third Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Final in the last four years.
And team boss Rossiter was full of pride after a magnificent showing in front of a big home crowd.
“What a night, I’m one proud Great Britain manager at the moment!” Rossiter declared. “The boys have all been so calm and relaxed. It’s been an absolute pleasure to deal with these guys.
“The hard work seems to have paid off, and it was a fantastic performance from every single one of them.
“We’ll go into the final high on confidence and with the same attitude we had tonight. Hopefully it pays off again.”
