This immaculate Porsche 911T was imported from the USA to the UK in 2011, just after it had received a complete 'nut & bolt' rebuild and modification to RS/ST specification by Carrera Motors in Oregon. The engine was replaced with a fully rebuilt carburetted three litre unit from a 911SC and mated to a G50 five-speed gearbox with Wevo selector. The steel rear wheel arches have been widened and the car has been fitted with a full RS interior. Since the car has been in the UK, it has been stored in a temperature controlled environment and looked after and fully maintained by a Porsche racing specialist based in Surrey, recently undergoing £8,000 worth of additional work.
This RS/ST recreation offers the thrills, looks and sound of the original but at a considerably lower price. As early 911s are becoming more sought-after by collectors, they are regarded as a sound and eminently useable investment. It should be noted that that this car started life as an original long-nose 911T and, as such, should be considered far superior to the usual back-dated 964 or SC. With original ST or RS models commanding eight times the price, this example appears excellent value. Supplied with a history file, UK V5C registration document and a full year MoT test certificate, the devil is certainly in the detail and the detail is evident from stem to stern.
