RYE House edged out Wolverhampton 48-42 at Hoddesdon to remain in the thick of the SGB Premiership play-off battle.
The Rockets picked up an important three points to counter Swindon’s successes from earlier in the week, although they had to come from behind to do it.
Wolves led 31-29 after Heat 10 with Rory Schlein winning his opening three rides, but back-to-back 5-1s from the Rockets then proved crucial, with reserves Stuart Robson and Ben Morley playing starring roles.
Robson joined Scott Nicholls for maximum points over Fredrik Lindgren and Kyle Howarth in Heat 11 whilst Morley and Ben Barker repeated the feat against Schlein in the next; before Robson secured victory by winning Heat 14.
Robson scored 12+1 for the hosts with Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls adding 10+2 apiece, whilst Sam Masters racked up 13 for the visitors and won Heat 15 to secure a league point.
Rockets recent new recruit Ben Barker said: I’m loving it here already. The side is mainly British, which does help, and it’s good.
“Look at Robbo (Stuart Robson), with paid 13 tonight. There aren’t many reserves who can do that in the league, and it was a great performance. If he keeps doing that, then he’ll be up in the main body and I might have a little stint down there. That would be nice!
“The away matches are crucial, and everyone knows I give 100%. So we’ll be looking to get something on the road wherever we go. We’ll just get out there and get stuck in.”
Wolves boss Peter Adams said: “We expected a little bit more to be honest and maybe we should be leaving with more than one point too.
“But on reflection it's a tough little place to come to and with someone like Stuart Robson and the experience he posses at reserve, it certainly makes the task that little bit harder.
“Sam and Rory stood out for us tonight and I pay particular credit to them because I thought they were both fantastic.”

BERWICK and Glasgow shared the spoils with a 42-42 draw in the SGB Championship at Shielfield Park.
There were never more than two points between the sides in a meeting which was eventually abandoned one race short of Heat 15 due to rain.
The final race to be shared saw the bottom club edge a 4-2 from David Howe and Jye Etheridge to pull level after they had trailed since Heat 11.
Etheridge scored 9+2 from six rides with Nick Morris on nine for the Bandits, whilst Dan Bewley carded 12+1 from five outings for the Tigers, who took two league points from the meeting.
Berwick team boss Gary Havelock said: "It was a great battling performance from the Bandits tonight and it's a shame the rain that came around heat 11 spoiled the finish and meant we had to cancel Heat 15, as when you looked at 14 with the first bend falls it was dangerous, which Glasgow's manager, Stuart Dickson agreed.
“The riders were having to ride so, so wide, inches off the fence to get the grip as the inside lines were just like ice. As we know - me more than many - speedway is a dangerous enough a sport as it is without asking the guys to race a hard final heat that all depends on and the last thing we as managers wanted was an injury so it was sensible. I guess it’s a fair result too as neither side deserved to lose that match."

EASTBOURNE extended their lead at the top of the Travel Plus National League with a 54-35 win over bottom club Buxton at Arlington.
Mark Baseby stormed to a 14-point haul for the Eagles, beaten only by the top Hitmen rider Matt Williamson in Heat 15.
Jake Knight (10+1) was also in double figures for a solid-scoring home side, whilst Williamson (12+1) and Max Clegg (8) shared the four Buxton race wins.

LEWIS Rose has confirmed he suffered a broken collarbone in his crash at Edinburgh on Friday.
The King’s Lynn and Newcastle racer now faces a spell on the sidelines and is planning to have surgery.
Rose said: “It's the same collarbone I broke before. I've bent the plate and pulled a couple of the screws through.
“I'm heading back home to sort an operation.”

PETERBOROUGH have the chance to put Friday’s home defeat behind them when Redcar visit the East of England Arena today (Sunday).
The Panthers suffered a damaging loss on their own circuit against Sheffield but did win emphatically when they last faced the Bears on Teesside earlier this month.
Redcar would move back into the SGB Championship play-off places if they can notch their fifth away win of the season, whilst Peterborough are seeking to bridge a 12-point gap to the top four.
The hosts, who were rained-off at Workington yesterday, welcome back Bradley Wilson-Dean from SGBP duty and Simon Lambert from injury.
Peterborough team boss Carl Johnson said: “Slipping up against Sheffield on Friday was obviously not what we wanted, but we couldn’t have any complaints about the outcome.
“Bouncing back from a disappointment in the right way is a sign of a good team – and that’s what I’ll be asking for the boys to do today.
“But we know it will be far from easy. Redcar are a lot closer to the play-off places than ourselves currently and they’ll be desperate for a decent haul of points themselves to get back into the top four.
“They’ll also be looking for revenge for our win up there a few days ago and I’m sure it will be a really good meeting with plenty of the high-class racing that has become the norm at our place.”
Meanwhile Glasgow and Berwick resume rivalries at Ashfield less than 24 hours after a draw at the Border venue on Saturday.
The Tigers boast an unblemished home record of nine successive Championship wins, and a further success against the basement club would see them join Edinburgh and Ipswich on 47 points.

BIRMINGHAM have received mixed team news ahead of today’s (Sunday) National League trip to Mildenhall.
Experienced campaigner David Mason has been ruled out of the clash as he is still struggling with a neck problem sustained during the big home win over local rivals Cradley last week.
Kyle Roberts will also miss the trip to Suffolk and is facing an extended spell on the sidelines. The 18-year-old aggravated a shoulder injury, also in the victory against the Heathens, and could be out for up to six weeks.
Roberts is replaced by Lewis Whitmore, who made a number of recent appearances for the Fen Tigers, whilst Connor Coles replaces Tom Bacon who is on SGBC duty.
Brummies boss Graham Drury said: “The few riders we've got missing obviously isn't ideal but we're still confident we can go there and come away with a positive result.
“The lads are still buzzing from their terrific win against Cradley and they know we've got an important spell coming up.
“Mildenhall is a place the people of Birmingham enjoy going back to after winning the National League there in 2015 and I think it should be a very interesting contest.”
