SPEEDWAY POSTPONEMENT WEDNESDAY JULY 19:

SGB PREMIERSHIP
King's Lynn v Rye House - OFF

(SPEEDWAY 1)

NEWCASTLE star Steve Worrall is hoping his regular partnership with Robert Lambert can reap dividends in the SGB Championship Pairs at Somerset on Friday.
The Diamonds are strongly fancied for the showpiece event which features all ten second-tier clubs on the eve of the British Grand Prix at Cardiff.
Worrall said: “I recently had a good meeting at Somerset and we both really enjoy riding there.
“Robert has already won the Premiership Pairs there so we have a lot going for us, we just have to go there and do the business.
“Robert and I ride really well together, most of the time we do Heats 13 and 15 so we have that familiar partnership. I look out for him and he looks out for me.
“Nine times out of ten, we know where each other is, we have a pretty good relationship and when you look at some of the others, they perhaps don’t get to ride together as often. Hopefully, that will work in our favour.”

POOLE can move to within one point of SGB Premiership leaders Belle Vue tonight (Wednesday) – but they face a tough test against in-form Swindon at Wimborne Road.
Timo Lahti makes his home debut for the Pirates and James Shanes has been passed fit to ride after a crash at Wolverhampton on Monday.
Skipper Jason Doyle is set to return for the Robins, who won three matches in five days in his absence, and they are also hoping Adam Ellis is fit after suffering a shoulder injury at Leicester, also on Monday.
Poole promoter Matt Ford said: “Hopefully the Poole fans will show their tremendous appreciation for Timo, who had a solid enough debut for us, and Richie (Worrall) continued to progress and as promoter I cannot ask for any more than that.
“I think it is fair to believe that Swindon will be well geared up for this meeting and that means we need to be on our No.1 game and give our fans something to cheer.”
Meanwhile King’s Lynn promoter Keith Chapman is hoping three points over Rye House at the Adrian Flux Arena will help everyone at the club focus on the rest of the season.
Last Thursday’s home clash with Poole was marred by controversy – and they fell to defeat in the process.
With Chris Holder serving a 28-day ban and Lewis Rose also ruled out with a broken collarbone, the Stars have drafted in Great Britain World Cup star Steve Worrall alongside former King’s Lynn favourite Lewis Kerr as guest replacements. Kai Huckenbeck is also absent, and the Stars will use rider-replacement for the German.
The Rockets head into two vital away matches in two days – as they also visit Swindon on Thursday – with rider-replacement in operation for Justin Sedgmen following his crash at Wolverhampton last week, whilst Ben Morley continues as guest at reserve for Robert Branford.
Chapman said: “What happened last Thursday has been spoken about on a number of occasions now.
“I have written one final column about it all which supporters will be able to read at the track on Wednesday and then that’s it, it’s gone and it’s behind us.
“We all know the importance of a win against Rye House and hopefully our fans will stick with us and get behind the team because the top four is where we want to be.”
Rockets boss Peter Schroeck said: “It’s a must-win situation for us, especially with Swindon winning at Leicester (on Monday).
“We’re not really concerned at the moment with what is happening at the very top of the table; it is the third and fourth positions that we are focused on. As it stands, one point is not really enough for us: we are going to King’s Lynn with the aim of taking every available point.
“We are aware that the Stars had their problems last week and it might be the ideal timing to go there on the back of that. But to be clear, we are not focused on them; only on what we can do to get the result we need.”

TWO of the top four sides in the National League clash tonight (Wednesday) as second-placed Belle Vue host Cradley, currently in fourth.
The Colts boast an enviable home record of six wins out of six, many by bumper margins, but they are still without injured captain Lee Payne.
Both teams operate rider replacement as the Heathens go into the meeting without the unavailable Luke Harris.
Belle Vue’s Andy Mellish said: “This will be another big test for us. There are a lot of good riders on both teams, plenty of whom know their way around the National Speedway Stadium. It will be intense.
“We’re proud of our home record and we want to keep it that way. Unfortunately, Lee Payne is still nursing his shoulder but our lads know the drill and we’ll all chip in with his rides where possible.”
Cradley boss Will Pottinger said: “It’s going to be a very tough trip. They’re doing very well at home this year, so they’ll certainly be the favourites.
“But we want to go there and put in a good performance for our travelling supporters, and if we could come away with a result we’d be delighted.”
Meanwhile Birmingham host Stoke at Perry Barr – and the home side can return to the top four if Cradley miss out in Manchester.
David Mason and Layne Cupitt return from injury and illness respectively for the Brummies, who again use Lewis Whitmore as a guest at reserve for the injured Kyle Roberts.
Birmingham promoter Graham Drury said: “We were obviously bitterly disappointed with how things went at the weekend but we’re more-or-less back to a full side now so we have to put Sunday’s match against Mildenhall behind us.
“Stoke have already beaten us once this season so we know we can’t take anything for granted.
“But we’re hungry for the win and hopefully we can send our supporters home happy with another three points in the bag.”
Potters boss Malcolm Vasey said: “I have full respect for the Graham Drury and the Birmingham team and supporters and I am looking forward to a great battle between the two sides.
“I feel we are currently in very good shape as a team and will need to be at our best. They have some very good riders that have recently come into the sport who all perform well around Perry Barr, but we are hoping to get something out of the meeting and go in good spirits.”

LEICESTER have suffered a double injury blow following Monday’s dramatic Premiership clash with Swindon.
Kim Nilsson has suffered a broken arm as a result of his Heat 15 crash and the club are awaiting a further update to establish how long he’s likely to be out.
New sensation Pawel Przedpelski had surgery in Poland on a broken fibula and early estimates are he could be back within three weeks.
Leicester co-promoter Neil Machin said: “Naturally we wish all our injured boys all the very best.
“The crashes were dramatic and contributed to our narrow defeat but it was a tremendous effort on what, otherwise, was a good night for Leicester Speedway.”

NEWCASTLE have announced the return of Stuart Robson for a fourth spell in Diamonds colours.
The vastly experienced Robson, who also races for Rye House in the SGB Premiership, rejoins the Brough Park side after Lewis Rose broke his collarbone at Edinburgh last Friday.
His first appearance in the SGB Championship will be in the Diamonds’ trip to Sheffield on Thursday July 27.
Team boss George English said: “We are desperately sorry for Lewis and he is a massive loss to us, but if anyone can fill his shoes it is Stuart and the reaction of the crowd on Monday evening when we announced our plans was so positive as Robbo is massively popular at Brough.
“As Rye House, who we thank for their co-operation, have a fixture this Thursday when we go to Ipswich, we will have to wait a week before Stuart re-joins us but we are sure it will be well worth the wait.”

SHEFFIELD have snapped up Georgie Wood to fill the final team spot available at reserve.
The Eastbourne racer will take his place in the side on Thursday when Workington visit Owlerton in a key Championship clash, replacing Nathan Stoneman who suffered a broken leg last week.
Co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We’re pleased to get back to a full seven-man team and we can kick on from here.
“Georgie is keen and wants to do well for us, he will fit in well with the rest of the lads and we’re pleased to welcome him to Owlerton.”

REDCAR have announced Tobias Busch will return to their line-up this week after a lengthy injury absence.
The Bears have released Busch’s replacement Coty Garcia after the German confirmed he was fit to resume after breaking an ankle at Peterborough in April.
Team boss Jitendra Duffill said: “I'm very excited to have Tobias back and the prospect of having him and Danny (Ayres) at reserve puts a big smile on my face. There is surely no better reserve pairing anywhere in the Championship and they can be our trump cards from here on.
“I have been very pleased with the job that Coty Garcia has done for us. He has been a pleasure to work with and I am sad to see him go.”
