A wide collection of classic Abarths will take to the track at this year’s Abarth Day (30 June), at Rockingham Speedway, Northamptonshire including a rare 1970’s Abarth Scorpione 1000.
Abarth UK have worked closely with Middle Barton Garage to bring the classics back to the track for another year. Middle Barton Garage owner Tony Castle Miller said: “Over the 31 years we have been in business, we have restored many classic Abarth models. It’s always a great pleasure to see these take to the track.”
Tony continues: “It takes many hours to prepare these classic Abarths but the owners have great passion for the brand. They really want to show these rare cars to as many people as possible and really enjoy being part of the official celebration of Abarth in the UK.”
Abarth Day is open to all car enthusiasts and people who are curious to find out what all the excitement is about. This is an opportunity to test all current models from the Abarth range in a dynamic setting and acquire a real taste for the brand.
“Seeing classic Abarths drive around the Rockingham circuit is always something to see. Our heritage is incredibly important to us and we are thrilled to have such a number of classic Abarths returning for our special day,” says Gerry Southerington from Abarth UK.
“You don’t have to be an Abarth owner to attend," he added. "We welcome anyone who is interested in finding out more about Abarth and its exciting range of cars. Ticket prices start from just £9 with many opportunities to drive the current Abarth range out on track. I’m sure all visitors will enjoy the day and discover the Abarth passion, some for the first time.”
A further exciting addition for 2018 will be an exclusive ‘Scorpionship Track Event’ held on Friday 29th June where Abarth owners can take part in track sessions in their own cars. The event starts at 2pm and will finish at 6pm with a barbeque. Only members of Abarth’s official club ‘The Scorpionship’ can attend at a cost of £79 which also includes a complimentary guest ticket and free access to Abarth Day the next day.
