and Teams’ Championship for 2021

The BRDC British F3 Championship has confirmed an exciting new prize package for 2021, with a full post-season FIA F3 test to be awarded to next year’s champion, whilst a Teams’ Championship will also be introduced.

Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of BRDC British F3 organiser MSV, explained: “BRDC British F3 is recognised as one of the leading single series for drivers to learn and prove that they have the talent to make F1, which is clearly their number one goal. Our drivers’ next step is international FIA F3, and to help them realise that I have decided to give them a full two day test in the official FIA F3 tests in Spain, running with one day each with Carlin and Hitech, two top teams that also compete in British F3. 

"I have no doubt that this will give our 2021 British F3 championship winner the opportunity to not only learn a great deal, but also demonstrate they can be very competitive in the F1 supporting series. The BRDC British F3 championship, and BRDC F4 before it, has produced some of the most exciting talents in Grand Prix racing today, including George Russell and Lando Norris, and I believe this new opportunity will only increase the 2021 champion’s chances of following in their footsteps."

Another change for 2021 is the introduction of a maiden Team’s Championship. Teams will compete for a separate title of their own for the very first time across the championship’s scheduled 24 races next season, with each squad’s two best placed cars scoring points towards the total.

The 2021 BRDC British F3 season will run for 24 races across eight triple-header events. The season will visit all three of the UK’s current and former Grand Prix venues at Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone plus Oulton Park and Snetterton as well as the legendary Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
