European Drag Racing Championship heads to the NitrOlympX,

For the penultimate round of the 2024 season

Duncan Micallef (Top Fuel), Jonny Lagg (Top Methanol), David Vegter (Pro Modified), and Jimmy Ålund (Pro Stock) currently lead their respective classes.

MICALLEF VS CALLIN IN TOP FUEL
In Top Fuel, the title race is between Duncan Micallef and Susanne Callin. Callin, after her Tierp victory, trails Micallef by only 19 points. Micallef, the 2017 champion, remains consistent but winless so far. The competition includes Jndia Erbacher, racing at her home track, Dennis Nilsson, returning after two years, and Linn Fløysvik, who makes her Top Fuel debut.

LAGG LEADS TOP METHANOL
Jonny Lagg leads Top Methanol after winning at Tierp Arena, just 17 points ahead of teammate Tony Bryntesson. Sandro Bellio, in third, aims to close the 33-point gap with his Funny Car, following a season marred by mechanical issues. The home crowd will support Silvio Strauch, returning after early-season engine damage, alongside Jürgen Nagel, who also resumes his season at Hockenheim.

CONSISTENCY KEY TO VEGTER’S PRO MODIFIED SUCCESS
David Vegter tops Pro Modified, consistently fast but still seeking his first win. With Jere Rantaniemi skipping Hockenheim, Vegter aims to widen his lead. Andres Arnover, Stian Rusånes, and Roger Johansson are in pursuit, with Johansson riding momentum from his runner-up finish at Tierp. Michel Tooren, 2022’s NitrOlympX winner, also seeks a strong finish with his new Camaro.

Several drivers return after brief absences, including Bruno Bader, Kim Kristiansen, and Jean Dulamon, while a contingent of German and Swiss drivers will join for this event, adding to the competitive field.

ÅLUND UNDEFEATED IN PRO STOCK
In Pro Stock, Jimmy Ålund remains undefeated and holds a commanding 82-point lead. Robin Norén and Michael Malmgren are his closest challengers, with Norén hoping to build on a strong Tierp performance. Stefan Ernryd looks to continue his recent improvement, while Richard Sundblom and Simon Ekengren aim to turn their seasons around. Lasse Britsmar rounds out the field, seeking his first elimination win of the season.
