Pablo Sarrazin showed impressive pace throughout Rallye Mont Blanc-Morzine to complete his first ever event in a Rally2 vehicle, battling with more experienced drivers and narrowly missing out on the top-10.
Alongside Geoffrey Combe, the duo made a strong start in the #19 Volkswagen Polo R2 and found themselves in 13th overall after the first day in their maiden four-wheel drive outing.
As the pair got more comfortable with the set up and conditions, they produced a brilliant display to move onto the verge of the top-10, eventually finishing 11th overall and fourth in the Amateur Trophy Rally2 France.
They will look to take confidence from this performance into the final round of their Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France campaign, which concludes at Rallye du Var on 23-24 November.
PABLO SARRAZIN
“I’m so happy that my first Rally2 event was a successful one and fighting for the top-10 was just incredible. We improved at every stage of the rally and throughout the 200 kilometres we didn’t make any mistakes, and finished the weekend in a strong position. I would like to thank KCMG for this opportunity, and the team for giving us an amazing car.”
GEOFFREY COMBE CO-DRIVER
“It was an excellent event, and we got better as the weekend progressed which was very positive to see. It was great to discover Rally2 machinery before the end of this year, and we hope to have more outings in the future. The whole team has done a brilliant job, and we can take what we’ve learnt from this experience into future rallies.”
PAUL IP KCMG FOUNDER
“We’re so pleased that we were able to give Pablo this opportunity at just 18-years-old, and we were impressed with his ability to adapt to a faster and bigger car. The duo didn’t make any mistakes throughout the entire weekend which was great, and they were battling with high quality drivers at this level. They learned a lot from this, and hopefully they can use this to end the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup France campaign well in November.”
