As the world has gone air-cooled Porsche crazy - some of the earlier water-cooled GT3’s look half sensible price-wise. A mate is selling this MK1 996 GT3 which is absolutely lovely - just had £10,000 + worth of expenditure mostly at Paragon - everything it needed has been done. Later 997 GT3's and RS variants also with the fabled Mezger engine have already flown the coop value wise - maybe the progenitor of the GT3 breed is due it's day in the sun?It's great and very tight to drive and even as a committed air-cooled 964 RS enthusiast have to admit that this water-cooled pork makes a fabulous usable road car, that you do not need to be Walter Rohrl to exploit - and also not so £££xxy that you would not mind a bit of gentle track exercise to get the most out of it.Not the cheapest - but it wants nothing doing to it and is ready to enjoy - having seen the car - would recommend an inspection. Let's hope it does not end up in a mausoleum - sorry investor collection! - and that the new owner uses it as intended. Forget values and the dreaded "investment" term - this is a bloody good analogue and tactile driving experience.
