GLASGOW boss Stewart Dickson knows his side must regain top form quickly to bring major silverware to Ashfield at the end of a strong season. The Tigers were well beaten by Somerset in the League Cup Final and would face the Rebels again if they can overcome Sheffield in their delayed Premier League play-off semi-final this week – and the KO Cup Final against Newcastle is also on the agenda.Dickson said: “Six weeks ago we were beating teams in Glasgow by 57 or 58 regularly - we need to get back to that sort of form. If we get home wins it gives us confidence to go on the road.“The guys want to win trophies as much as anyone else but it's only us that can change it. They're all good riders - one or two of them might have low confidence, but a race win here or there can hopefully change all that. “The two biggies are still out there for us, but on our showing (at Somerset), it won't be anywhere near good enough. Everybody is still behind them and we just hope that we can bounce back.”

BUXTON’S Shelby Rutherford has been ruled out of the club’s final fixture of the season due to an ongoing neck problem.Rutherford escaped serious injury when he crashed during the Hitmen’s double-header last weekend but it has now been decided he will not risk a comeback next Sunday.Manager Jason Pipe said: “Shelby still hasn't got full movement in his neck and even though he wants to try and ride, deep down he knows it would be a mistake to come back and ride again so early, and I've told him he wouldn't be letting anyone down and he has to think of his own health. “It just wasn't a knock to the arm or the leg. This is his neck we are talking about and I've told him he would be silly to risk it next Sunday. “He was a very lucky boy to come away with just what he did last week and I wouldn't like to see him come back too soon and damage himself more. It's a shame his season has had to finish in this way.”(SPEEDWAY 3)
