Round Eight: Down Rally, 15 October

Camillus Bradley took victory on the Down Rally, as Derek McGarrity scored his record-breaking seventh MSA Northern Ireland Rally Championship.

McGarrity needed seventh or better to ensure the title, but after two stages he was a lowly twenty-sixth, suffering from a severely misted windscreen in the opening stages.

With Camillus Bradley leading from start to finish, the pressure was on McGarrity, who climbed back to an eventual third overall to claim the title.
