SHEFFIELD boss Eric Boocock is backing his side to spring another surprise in their Premier League play-off semi-final against Glasgow. The injury-hit Yorkshire side will again be underdogs after pulling off a shock aggregate victory over highly-rated Newcastle at the quarter-final stage, and they now stage the first leg of the last four clash on Wednesday. Boocock said: “They’re a good team, but I don’t see why we can’t make it through to the Final. I thought it was probably harder to win at Newcastle than Glasgow, so after getting through that quarter-final we’re looking to go all the way.“I suppose if we had a choice we’d have preferred the second leg at home, because then you know exactly what you have to do.“As it is we’ll try and win by as many points as we possibly can on Wednesday to put us in a good position heading up to Glasgow.”(SPEEDWAY 2)HOME star James Shanes won the King of Kent as the curtain came down on the 2016 season at Central Park.Shanes triumphed in the individual event which featured this year’s Kings riders plus several invited track specialists.Joining Shanes on the rostrum were former club captain Ben Morley and current Kent man Danny Ayres, with Jack Thomas missing out in the Final in fourth place.
