Cars directly from Rowan Atkinson CBE and Jay Kay offered at No Reserve after fantastic bidding
Aston Martin, Audi, Porsche and Jaguar over exceed their guides
With the postponement of the Practical Classics Classic Car show, CCA were determined to make their sale happen and worked hard and exploring all avenues, which ultimately paid off.
Gary Dunne Classic Car Auctions Manager commented: “This is a fantastic achievement from the team and a huge thank you must go to our vendors and buyers who supported us along the way.”
“The results achieved in these circumstances is astonishing. This auction was a moving feast but, in the end, we made it happen in a safe and responsible way.”
160 cars were offered across 16 days with a 12-hour bidding window. Day one set the tone with nine out of the ten cars offered being sold with the star lot being Rowan Atkinson’s personal 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E achieving £27,540.
Day two followed with another fabulous day of sales. Eight out of the ten cars sold and all from a private collection and day three saw Jay Kay’s 1972 BMW 1602 which had a mass of bids as the clocked ticked down and sold for £16,470. This was swiftly followed by a 1976 Rolls-Royce formerly owned by Jay Kay selling for £30,780
Several cars exceeded their guides including two early Jaguars from the same family, a fixed head 1955 XK140 sold for £42,660 and a 1966 Series 1 E-Type achieved £41,580.
A 1962 Porsche 356 B T6 Super Coupe was also a star of the auction selling for £62,640. An Aston Martin V8 which needed completion sold for an amazing £51,840 and a 1986 Audi Quattro Turbo sold £26,190.
Gary commented further: “It was a very exciting auction and these are just some of the cars that sold exceptionally well, a snapshot of how successful the 16 days were. A full list of results can be found on our website.”
“Building on this success we are delighted to announce that our next sale will take place on the 13th June and this time it will be a live online auction”
“We will have Jonathan, our auctioneer, live and hammering away the bids. The CCA team will be on the phones and several other online bidding partners will be available as well as commission bids.”
“We now have a secure storage facility where we can offer vendors full photography and video, plus one to one viewings nearer the time in line with Government guidelines.”
“This is an exciting time for us and we have stepped up to the challenge. For this next auction, the premiums will be 4% plus VAT for the vendor and 8% plus VAT for the buyer.”
