Frenchman joins winner-takes-all RX2 shoot-out at Nysum
38-year-old arrives with five years of S1600 experience
Seine-Maritime native sampled Supercar Lites car last year

French Rallycross Championship Super1600 star Grégory Fosse will join the RX2 International Series presented by Cooper Tires at Nysum in Denmark next month (4-6 September), teaming up with defending champions Olsbergs MSE.

Fosse made his rallycross debut in 2011 with illustrious outfit Pailler Compétition, before spending three seasons contesting Division 4 in the Coupe de France. In 2015, the Seine-Maritime native stepped up to S1600 level, initially with a Citroën C2 before switching to a Peugeot 208, with which he achieved four top five finishes and reached the final eight times from nine rounds in 2018 on his way to sixth in the overall standings.

Last year, Fosse participated in the Supercar Lites sampler test the day after the FIA World Rallycross Championship event at Lohéac, receiving tuition from Damien Meunier. Now, he is set to put that experience into practice over the course of RX2’s double-header Danish weekend, the winner of which will earn themselves a fully-funded, single-round prize drive in the all-new FIA eRX2 Championship in 2021.

“I am very happy to be able to compete at Nysum in such a high-profile series,” enthused the 38-year-old. “It’s going to be an enriching and completely crazy experience for me. There will be a lot to learn in a short space of time, from the different type of gravel to four wheel-drive – given that I am accustomed to French tracks and S1600 – but I am so excited to participate in this unique double-header.

“I will go to Nysum with no real objective apart from having fun, but if the opportunity presents itself to score a good result, I will of course grab it with both hands! I have wanted to compete in RX2 ever since trying the Supercar Lites car out at Lohéac last year. I really enjoyed driving the car that day – and now I can’t wait to actually race it!”

RX2’s winner-takes-all shoot-out has attracted competitors from a number of different disciplines and nations.
