Reema Juffali signs with Douglas for BRDC British F3

Douglas Motorsport has announced Saudia Arabia's Reema Juffali as its first confirmed driver for the 2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, the team's sixth consecutive season in the UK's leading single-seater series.

Juffali joins one of the championship's mainstay teams for her debut season in the category, as she continues her groundbreaking career as the first ever Saudi Arabian woman to hold a race licence to compete both at home and abroad.

The 29-year-old began her career with appearances in the TRD 86 Cup and MRF Challenge in 2018, before switching to the UK to contest the F4 British Championship in 2019, where she frequently secured point-scoring finishes.

Following a guest drive in the Jaguar I-PACE e-Trophy in Saudi Arabia, Juffali contested UAE F4 Championship events in the winter of 2019/20 before returning to British F4 last year, showing progress to claim 11 top-ten finishes throughout the season.

Juffali took part in an initial test with Douglas Motorsport last year, with further outings planned in the weeks ahead, in preparation for the new campaign.

Juffali said: "I'm looking forward to taking this next step of my career with Douglas Motorsport. I felt right at home with the team during the test and really enjoyed driving the F3 car. I can't wait to get behind the wheel again."

Wayne Douglas, Team Principal, said: "We are delighted to be continuing in the BRDC British F3 Championship this season. It is one of the most competitive junior single-seater categories in Europe and we're determined to be up there fighting at the sharp end of the grid once again.

"We're looking forward to having Reema [Juffali] race with us this season. She showed fantastic progress across her two seasons in British F4 and impressed us with her speed during our first British F3 test together. We're excited to see what she can achieve this season."

The 2021 BRDC British F3 Championship is scheduled to begin at Brands Hatch on 22/23 May.
