Antonio Giovinazzi's Räikkönen tribute helmet

Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, will compete in the final Grand Prix of the season with a special helmet in tribute of Kimi Räikkönen.

Antonio’s helmet for the weekend, to be used in qualifying and the race, is inspired by that worn by Kimi during his World Championship season of 2007, and features a message of thanks from Antonio to Kimi as the duo completes three years as team-mates in Abu Dhabi this weekend.

Alfa Romeo will say goodbye to its drivers after three years together with a special livery on its C41 cars during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The cars of Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi will sport special messages from the team to the two drivers as the duo brings an end to their adventure with the Team, a journey together that had started in 2019.

The message will be incorporated in the Alfa Romeo logos featured on the cars’ engine cover, with wording taking the place of the horizontal arm of the Milan Cross. Antonio’s car will feature the Italian words “Grazie di tutto, Antonio” – thanks for everything, Antonio – in tribute to the italian driver’s contribution to the team since his debut; Kimi’s car will instead feature the message “Dear Kimi, we will leave you alone now”, a tongue-in-cheek tribute to one of the classic team radio messages that have entered Formula One lore during the Finn’s long career.

The messages will be featured during all sessions of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and will be just one of the tributes to Kimi and Antonio to take place throughout the weekend, with the team unveiling more as the days progress. As the 2021 season comes to an end, so will the partnership between two drivers who have charmed millions of fans with their personality, their humour and their commitment to racing, proudly representing the Alfa Romeo values both on and off the track.
