Rejigged calendar now features four Japanese events

2022’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS campaign will incorporate the Japan Cup, a new ‘championship within a championship’ for Japanese teams and drivers.

Points counting towards the Japan Cup classification will be awarded at four of next season’s six events. Suzuka and Fuji’s existing July dates remain unchanged and will be joined by two new Japanese circuits, both of which make their series debuts.

The Japan Cup is open to Pro-Am and Am crews racing GT2, GT3, GT4 and GTC (Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, Ferrari 488 Challenge, Porsche Carrera Cup) cars, just as the wider championship will be from next season.

All Japan Cup drivers must be JAF license holders.

All four Japan Cup dates avoid domestic clashes with Super GT and Super Taikyu. The full 2022 calendar, which features 12 one-hour races across six events, will be confirmed in due course.
