Absolute Racing to join Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia

Absolute Racing has announced its participation in the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, the prestigious one-make racing series organized by Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini in the region.

Southeast Asia powerhouse Absolute Racing, which has competed in various Volkswagen Group motorsport series such as the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, Audi R8 LMS Cup, or the Formula Masters China, is set to take on the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia with a fleet of specially designed Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 racecars.

The 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia season comprises six rounds held at some of the most iconic circuits in Asia, and each weekend consists of two 50-minute races. The series is known for its high-speed racing, close competition, and iconic racing venues, and it is widely considered to be one of the premier racing series in Asia. It is open to drivers from all over the world, but the majority of competitors are from the Asia-Pacific region.

After three years of hiatus, due to the international health situation, the series resumes at full speed to face its ninth edition, the first with the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2. The 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia season promises to be one of the most exciting and competitive in the series' history, and the addition of Absolute Racing only adds to the excitement.

Team Director Ingo Matter said, "We are thrilled to be joining the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia and to have the opportunity to race with the fastest single make GT. Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia will be a fantastic place for GT drivers to showcase their abilities and gain crucial experience in a fiercely competitive GT racing environment. Absolute Racing is proud to be part of the inaugural Asian season with the new evo kit. After years of consideration, the time has come for us to join the championship.”

The season will start on May 7 at the Sepang International Circuit (Malaysia). The campaign will continue at The Bend Motorsport Park (9-11 June), Fuji International Speedway (14-16 July), Everland Speedway (18-20 August) and Shanghai International Circuit (8-10 September).
