Manuel Vistas is making his debut this season in the Iberian Supercars Endurance, driving Araújo Competições' McLaren 570S Trophy in the GTC class.
The Portuguese driver, who began his racing career in classic cars, specifically in Group 1 Portugal, was enticed by the competition, which is the most prestigious in the Iberian Peninsula, and by the GT4 machinery. He has decided to participate in this year's season behind the wheel of a McLaren car, supported by Araújo Competição.
After rallying and racing classic cars, Manuel Vistas was tempted by the exoticism and high performance of the one-make trophy-spec McLaren 570S, ending a three-year absence from motorsports.
As a new driver for Araújo Competições, he will compete solo in the GTC category of the GTX division, which is designed for Gentleman Drivers who want to compete in high-performance dream cars.
"I took a break for some time, but McLaren grabbed my attention - it's an incredibly fast car and fantastic to drive. I was captivated and decided to compete in the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade and the Iberian Supercars Endurance",said Manuel Vistas.
He added, "I already know Diogo and Race Ready's organizational capabilities, and I hope for a well-organized competition where I can push the limits of this car and have fun, which is my main goal for the season. Of course, I'll always strive to do my best, and I count on the support of Araújo Competição for that”.
The opening round of the Iberian Supercars Endurance and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade season will take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve on April 6/7.
