HZO Fortis Racing by Absolute Trio joins Sepang 12 Hours

After a triumphant victory in the 2023 Sepang 12 Hours, Absolute Racing proudly announces its return to the prestigious endurance race at the Sepang International Circuit on March 14-16, 2024. The team's first entry, the HZO Fortis Racing by Absolute, with an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, will be driven by Malaysian brothers Haziq Oh and Hairie Oh, alongside compatriot Aaron Lim.

As the Southeast Asia most prominent endurance race returns in it’s original 12-hour format, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia - Lamborghini Cup race winners Haziq Oh and Hairie Oh will be making their racing debut in the GT3 class. The local siblings had shown a great improvement during last year’s debut in the Italian one-make series, and want to leave their mark in the notorious Sepang International Circuit organised race.

Joining them will be experienced driver and reputed driver coach Aaron Lim. This is not the first time that the former A1 Team Malaysia driver will be racing an Audi R8 GT3 car for Absolute Racing. In extremely tough conditions at the 12-hour Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race at Sepang back in 2011, Aaron Lim was running in sixth place when his car lost more than 90 minutes due to clutch failure, finishing in the top ten, a result he is committed to overcoming.

Ingo Matter, CEO of Absolute Racing, “We are delighted to have Haziq, Hairie, and Aaron join our team for the upcoming 12 Hours of Sepang. This race holds particular significance for us, and the inclusion of three Malaysian drivers adds a special touch to the occasion.”

“For the upcomimg race, Haziq and I are brimming with excitement and anticipation for the opportunity to compete at such a prestigious level,” said Hairie Oh. “This will be our inaugural endurance race, and we're eager to soak in the experience, honing our skills and pushing our limits on the track.”

Haziq Oh added "Our aim is not only personal growth but also to present formidable competition to the other teams. With the inclusion of Aaron Lim in our lineup, we're confident to deliver a commendable performance.”

For Aaron Lim, who is the coach of the two Malaysian drivers, this race will have a special meaning. "After almost 15 years of not being in a competitive GT race, and the last time was also with Absolute Racing in the Audi R8 LMS car in 2011, I'm looking forward to coming out of retirement. It is a great pleasure to do it all over again with Absolute Racing and together with Hairie and Haziq Oh whom I have been working very closely over the past year in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia 2023,” said the former A1 Team Malaysia driver.
