The Fanatec GT2 European Series will travel to the Adriatic Coast for its third event of the season, with Misano confirmed as a new addition to the 2021 calendar.
The Italian venue will take the place of Silverstone, running a week later than scheduled on 2-3 July to become part of the support package for Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS.
The two-day event will begin on Friday with a pair of extended free practice sessions. The first will run at 11:50 and the second at 17:00 CET, with each lasting one hour to improve the balance of seat time across the two-driver entries. Qualifying will follow later that evening, kicking off at 20:25.
The opening contest will go green at 12:40 on Saturday afternoon, before the series breaks new ground with its first-ever evening race at 20:20 to close out the action. It will follow the championship’s successful lauch event at Monza in April and a second outing earlier this month at Hockenheim.
Featuring high-power performance models from the likes of Audi, Lamborghini, KTM and Porsche, the Fanatec GT2 European Series has quickly become a hit with GT racing fans. After four races the title fight is finely poised in both the Pro-Am and Am Cup categories, fuelling excitement for the second half of the season.
Following the Misano event, the series will visit Spa-Francorchamps as part of the returning Spa Speedweek (23-25 July) before concluding at Circuit Paul Ricard on 1-3 October.
